Experience the magic of Zakynthos as the sun begins its descent on our Romantic Sunset & Agalas Cave tour. This land-based journey takes you through the rugged beauty of the island's southern west coast, starting with the mystical Agalas Caves and the legendary Damianos Cave. As evening approaches, we head to the breathtaking cliffs of Mizithres. From this premier vantage point, you'll witness the two towering white limestone rocks surrounded by neon-blue water, all bathed in the warm, golden glow of the setting sun. It is a serene, soulful experience perfect for couples and photographers seeking the island's most dramatic natural spectacle.
Our evening begins with a comfortable pickup from your accommodation in our luxury minibus. We head toward the southwest of the island, driving through traditional stone villages and lush olive groves as the light begins to soften.
We arrive at the mountain village of Agalas. Here, we explore the two-story Damianos Cave and learn the fascinating local legend of the Dragon Andronios. You'll also see the twelve historic stone wells built to provide water to the village.
We reach the edge of the Keri cliffs. You'll stand high above the Ionian Sea to witness the two iconic white Mizithres rocks. The contrast of the white limestone against the deep blue water is one of the most stunning sights in Greece.
This is the highlight of the tour. We find a prime spot on the cliffs to watch the sun dip below the horizon. As the sky turns shades of orange, pink, and purple, you'll have plenty of time for photos of this once-in-a-lifetime romantic moment.
After the sun has set, we begin our gentle descent back from the mountains. Relax in the air-conditioned minibus as we drop you off directly at your hotel or villa, concluding a magical evening.
The start time varies throughout the season to align with the changing sunset times. Generally, pickups begin between 17:00 and 18:30. We will send you the exact pickup time for your specific date via WhatsApp or email 24 hours before the tour.
Safety is our priority. While the cliffs offer the best views, the terrain can be uneven. Your guide will lead you to the best and safest designated viewing areas. We strongly recommend wearing closed-toe shoes rather than flip-flops for this portion of the tour.
Bring your camera or smartphone (fully charged!), comfortable walking shoes, and a light jacket. Even in summer, the temperature at the mountain cliffs can drop slightly once the sun goes down. If you'd like to buy a drink at the village, bringing some pocket money is also a good idea.
To keep the experience romantic and intimate, we limit our group sizes. Our luxury minibuses typically carry between 8 and 14 guests, ensuring you have plenty of space and a more personalized experience with your guide.
The visit to the Damianos Cave and the cliff viewpoint involves some walking on natural, unpaved paths. While it is not a strenuous hike, it may be challenging for those with significant mobility issues. Please contact us in advance if you have concerns.
